COMM 1190 Final Project
Time - I’d love to work for Time Magazine because of their style of journalism and the way they tell a story. As an avid reader of the Time, I found that I highly enjoy their writers’ styles and the way they inform the public of recent popular events. Their layout to report other aspect such as Health and Business are concise, and most of the time fit on one page.
Time is the world’s largest weekly news magazine, and has a domestic audience of 20 million and a global audience of 25 million.
They’re also famous for their “Person of the Year” award, which has featured some of the most influential pioneers of time. Despite how the media and news is today, Time has become a medium for myself to obtain news and great information on many topics.
Copyblogger.com - Copyblogger is an online media website that teaches people online marketing, business, copywriting, writing, social media, etc. They receive over a million visitors and page views a month, and appeal to an audience that wish to make a living/business online. Their writers post daily insight on numerous topics from writing, social media, marketing, and copywriting.
Blogging has become the new magazine. These pioneers of the online world will be responsible for peoples’ knowledge and understanding of how business works on the Internet. I’d love to be a writer for them, supplying great tips from my point of view, crafting great content to teach an audience. The feedback from many people reading the material is rewarding — an it’s an online business that continues to grow at rapid speeds.
Olgivy — is an international advertising, marketing, and public relations agency based in Manhattan. The company operates 497 offices in 125 countries with approximately 16,000 employees. They became a leading and worldwide agency in the 1960’s, building up popular brands like Ford, BP, Barbie, Maxwell, and Kodak.
I could see myself working in the advertising and marketing department. My ideas for attracting a large audience, to make them go “Ah-ha” is a feeling that never gets old. My writing ability would help me craft great advertisements, and set up public events to serve the audience. Events such as Breast Cancer Awareness during sports events are ingenious. They are great for the public, look great for the company, and it’s all for a great cause besides making money.
Here lies Paul Jun, a great writer and influential blogger of his time. He built an empire with words, reached millions of readers and changed their life. He enjoyed the finer things in life such as: Jazz, whiskey, and freedom to do whatever he wanted, when he wanted.
He traveled the world, ate all kinds of food, met unique people, and lived everyday like it was his last. Unfortunately, today was his last day.
He walked tall, kicked ass, was on a pursuit of knowledge, and will remain in the hearts of his loved ones and loyal audience.
His last words before shutting his eyes was a quote from Hunter S. Thompson, one of his favorite writers: “You better take care of me, Lord, or else you’ll have me on your hands.”
Bora Bora: If you have never heard of it, Google it. The first thought in mind would be Paradise or one of those postcards that make you wonder if water is ever that blue. It’s a very famous and expensive vacation spot, but definitely worth going to for a memorable time.
Brazil: I love the culture, the food, and the environment. My mothers side of the family lived there for 12 years and all they do is talk about it. I’d love to finally go there and just see for myself. Many parts are known to be very poor and considered the ghetto, but if you go to the right tourist locations, you should be fine.
China: Seeing enough documentaries, films, and pictures, I’d love to explore the country from the city to the farmlands. I’d definitely have to bring a friend who spoke Chinese. Of course, The Great Wall of China is a must see, and I’d love to see the lifestyle there compared to here.
Audio editing assignment
My laptop: It contains my work and I spend a good amount of time doing research or reading the news. Most of my business is dealt with this laptop.
My books: I value the books I have purchased, and I continue to re-read them.
My T.V: I actually never had a T.V until I went out and got one for myself. Kind of wonder how I ever lived without one.
My phone: Without it, no way of communicating. It does make everything easier, from access to news and weather, to being able to keep in touch with family and friends. If it suddenly was taken away from me, it would take time to adjust.
My necklace: One of my best friends, and a mentor, was into jewelry crafting and he made me a beautiful rosary with beads. It’s something that has turned more from just-a-necklace, to something that I would treasure and never give up.
